Here are my picks for this week in the NFL...

- Vikings over Cardinals
- Panthers over Cowboys (Newton returns to glory)
- Saints over Buccaneers
- Packers over Rams
- Giants over Redskins (very close game)
- Texans over Ravens
- Bills over Titans
- Colts over Browns (Andrew Luck has a great game)
- Patriots over Jets (by at least 14 points)
- Raiders over Jaguars (Jags suck)
- Bengals over Steelers
- Bears over Lions (Lions have let me down too much this year)

I picked the 49ers for Thursday's game by the way.

Newton has all the talent in the world, but he really needs to learn how to become a leader.

Bears play Panthers on Sunday,I say Chicago wins by 10.

Chicago is a great example of how a mediocre team can still put some wins up Very Happy

How are the Bears a mediocre team? I think you are confusing them with the Cowboys. The Bears have a great running back, solid receivers, the best kick and punt returner in NFL history, a good solid and sometimes great quarterback and probably the best defense in the NFL. The Bears are one of the favorites to get to the Super Bowl. Mediocre teams don't get to the Super Bowl.

Oh and I forgot, Brandon Marshall is a great WR.

I am a huge Bears fan,I dont cheer for really any other team...but yes..they are still mediocre imo and will end up that way this season.here are a few reasons.

: NO URLACHER. a season without him playing makes the team less spectacular.

: QUARTERBACK. Cutler...hes known by every team in the league as a serious choker if not whimpy if pressured.Ive never been a huge fan of his but am trying hard to cheer for him to be successful...I am sympathetic to all his concussions too but a great QB he may never be, no matter how much the fans hope.

:the WORSE rated offensive line for what.. the previous 2 plus seasons if not more but im afraid to look, and the Bears organization changed nothing with those guys, some things are gelling nowadays but it wont be permanent.

I would like to see nothing but them winning the super bowl but seriously I do not see it realistic happening with the O-Line and Cutler, even if hes having a decent year so far,I think him and that O-line alone will keep the team mediocre and will not win the big games needed in the playoffs.

hope I am proven wrong.

The bears have an elite defence and can run the football. They are much better than just a "mediocre" football team. Yes, they have offensive line problems and a quarterback who is wildly inconsistent, but to consider them mediocre is really unfair. Still, I do not think they can win a Super Bowl unless Jay Cutler steps up his play. We have seen time and time again that a running game and a good defence are key to deep playoff runs, but you need to also have an elite quarterback who can make big throws when needed.

The Bears made it to the Super Bowl AND scored several points in that game with Rex Grossman......The Bears ARE capable of making it to the Super Bowl this year. I won't say they will make it but they are one of the elite teams who could get there. Eli Manning's first Super Bowl win came in a season when the Giants were failing then made a late run all the way to the championship. I can see this happening with the Bears.

Defense wins championships. The Bears don't really need a GREAT offense to go all the way but they DO have great offense. Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Devin Hester, Jay Cutler...yes Jay is like Favre, he can play great and win the game or throw it away but I think the longer he plays the smarter he might get. I think he is on the verge of officially becoming a great QB. Or not.

Guys like Brandon Marshall can do WONDERS for a rookie QB or an inconsistant QB. Look at the Colts. Sure Luck is great for a rookie but look at the season Reggie Wayne has been having! I watch every Colts game and Wayne is among the ALL TIME greatest WR's ever! This guy makes amazing catch after amazing catch. He made 4 amazing catches in ONE GAME a few weeks ago. He is a beast. Brandon Marshall is also a beast and I hope you guys are grateful to have him. He might be the key to getting you guys to the Super Bowl.

This guy has the size and skill. I don't think the Bears are known for having amazing WR's so you guys are looking good right now.

great posts guys! some excellent comments made there.

I do agree that the Bears are very capable of going to the finals, but I also think they are very capable of losing again in the playoffs.

Yes they have a rockin defense, some of my fave players are there, their defense is why they have a few of those wins this year.Im loving the way Briggs is playing for example.

Urlacher is one of my all time faves, but taking his stats out of the game lowers that defense rating and when playoffs come we will miss his big plays and leadership.

Cutler is in an awkward position, hes capable and he knows that, but hes just not a proven "mental" winner like the Mannings or Favre or even a Brady,I just dont see Cutler ever becoming a hall of famer qb and having an O-line thats unstable in front of him doesnt help his quest of winning the Bowl.

maybe if we compared this Bears team to the GREAT 1985 Bears. This one is mediocre compared to them.I also think part of being a great team is finishing with the bowl raised over your heads, until that happens this Bears team will be just mediocre to a very good team.

I think a team is either great, mediocre,or just crappy.Any of these teams still could win the superbowl but no way would I rate the Bears(even though i love them) as being great, they are just having a great year.

so far.

if they tweeked that O-line a bit that would help Cutler at least have a chance, that alone could make them a great team but they didnt make the changes needed and I think things will fall come playoff time, again. We saw it earlier with GreenBay this year,Cutler was sacked 9 times. The Oline hasnt gained much weight since then.

some great individual players mentioned and some great reasons why the Bears are one of the teams to watch this year. Cool

yes I hope hes 100% for playoff time:)

they pulled out a huge huge win today, the Panthers had possesion for 36minutes of the game, thats a lot for a team thats now 1-6.
great job by both teams kickers.

Titans next week i think...

Bears missed a FG and Justin Medlock was terrible on kickoffs also the punting wasn't very great either

The Bears kicked a field goal that was over 40 yards long with no time left on the clock to win the game and Medlock kicked like 5 field goals for 15 points, they still did pretty well for having an off day.

The Bears find ways to win games. That's all that really matters in the end. Can you find a way to win? And they have.

Big win for the Colts. Almost seems like a HUGE win actually. We won 2 games last year, we already have 4 now. We are in the race for that Wild Card spot as of now. Texans will win the division.

The Broncos might be emerging as a Super Bowl team right now. I don't want to get carried away after just one great game but I always thought to myself that if Peyton plays with a great defense, he is just about unstoppable.
