Hey guys,
I need some help, i want to make a Call of Duty Montage and i found a really cool song that would fit it perfectly but i don't know if i can use the song. I glanced over the copyright rules/laws and realised this can turn out to be pretty bad if i don't know what I'm doing. So if i were to mention in the description of my video the artist, song and thank them can i still get a copyright infringement? I'm not sure what to do so if anyone knows please post a comment.
Thanks |

Hi Nick,
if you put in your video, music protected by copyright, illegal commit a violation, you should ask permission to the owners (authors and publishers) the rights of content you want to use.
youtube has a technology that is able to identify the video and audio tracks that belong to third parties and the consequences are:
-removal of the audio track (you'll end up with a silent video)
-removal of the entire video
-removal of your youtube account
-legal complaint from the owner of the copyright
Do not you make if your violation is exclusively for personal use (ie you hold it in your PC and share it with friends, if you do not make the public domain)!
This exception to the infringement of copyright (for personal use) exist in Italy, but I think the rule viga also in your country.
Not to take bad risks, you can search for the song in the many sites where you can download music not protected by copyright or look in the library of authorized music from youtube (AudioSwap)!
I hope I was helpful |

Hey Nick I think Fullmoon is right.
Without permission from the holder of the copyright it's not a good idea unless you did it only for yourself and didn't post it at all on youtube even private youtube would still see it.
Best suggestion get permission from copyright holder or find the song another way with no copyrights attached to it.
Good Luck _________________

I too have a YouTube account, and sometimes I use copyright. What I think you should do is sign up for Google AdSense, then post your video. You must make sure that you list the song name and/or artist. You can also put Music Copyright-Name of song and artist. That way you can be safe. |
