Ten Greatest Rock Bands of the 21st Century

I was going to make a poll of who the greatest is of the 21st century but decided to do this instead. This is bands only so no solo artists. You can rank them in order if you feel like it. I am not really prepared yet to make my top 10 but I can give it a try. I don't rank bands just on how good I think their music is, I take a few other things into consideration such as the impact they have had in rock music so far. Remember these aren't my favorite bands of the decade, just ones that I think have done the best so far in this century. In order.....

1.Radiohead
2.The White Stripes
3.Coldplay
4.Muse
5.Mastodon
6.Green Day
7.System of A Down
8.The Strokes
9.Red Hot Chili Peppers
10.U2

Album sales aren't that important to me because all the stuff that sells like crazy these days sucks. Most of the true great bands don't sell a whole lot of albums while others sell a lot and get played on the radio all the time. I might change my list in the future. If you can't list 10 then list 5 or something. Come on, you can do it!

2 of those bands I listed have broken up....White Stripes and System of A Down but it sounds like System of A Down might be coming back to make new music soon.

I like Radiohead the best, they have achevied alot and also they guest-star in Southpark in the episode 'Scott tenorman must die'. Their music are awesome! Very Happy

Nice list but I only picked bands that came out with new music in the 2000's. Those are great bands though.

i never really was into system of a down until i went to a korn concert and they were opening the show...they were sick, from then on i was a fan

It's ok. The bands I picked all had albums in the 2000's that have been highly praised by critics and sold well. Every Mastodon album has been either praised by critics or had universal acclaim. I'm waiting for them to make just a decent album but it hasn't happened yet. I also added them because I'm tired of metal bands always being left out of these lists.
