|
|
Can you believe this new law the government are trying to pass have now passed?
Basically if you are under 35 and even just temporarily unemployed, if you are claiming housing benefit you will have to move into a single room in a shared house, since that is the only rate of housing payment they are willing to provide.
This law is retarded for a zillion reasons.
First and foremost, people of that age are not just illiterate pieces of **** - many people between the ages of 18 and 35 have professional interests to persue. Such as artists, musicians, scientists, dancers, teachers, mechanics etc... etc...
All these people need their own space to practice and study their profession if they intend to get employment in their professional field.
So for example, artists needs space to store their drawing boards, paints, pencils, brushes, room to set up these 'workstations'.. they also need the assurance that no weirdo who they live with is going to mess with their valuable creations - dancers who may even wish to teach dancing need their own space to move about - musicians need space to store and use their instruments, such as keyboards, cellos, guitars, drum kits even... the list is endless - mechanics have lots of pieces of engineering such as car engines, tools, and engine parts -- it goes on and on and on...
Furthermore, anyone with a previous mental health condition, including stress disorders and the like, should be under no obligation whatsoever to move into shared accommodation with people of whom they have no good knowledge.
Anyone who has suffered in such a way should be avoiding such situations not actively seeking them, since such situations may be very detrimental to their health and very likely to cause a relapse.
On top of all that, the expense and hassle of moving your possessions and furniture, much of which will have to be stored at extra expense somewhere else since it will not all fit into a single tiny room, will in itself be a highly volatile candidate to causing a relapse of stress related mental illness.
Where are we supposed to store all of our stuff?
This new law is akin to prison service laws in that we are being forced to share a cell with people we are unlikely to get along with.
Not only that - but - even if you are currently 34 years old and are turning 35 in one month's time, you will still have to move all your stuff out, find a single room and move in to that tiny space for one month before going through that whole hullaballoo all over again when you turn 35.
Basically if you are under 35 you are being called an illiterate piece of **** with no professional aspirations, privacy, individuality or mental health rights. _________________

This sounds like one terribly hole filled law.
It does however sound like a typical government solution, that is to paint everyone with the same brush instead of actually looking at the situation and trying to find out what would work best for each different scenario.
Did they rush this through Parliament so they could get on their Christmas break??
Why does the government want to target this age group?
What exactly is the Unemployment rate in the country?
In Canada we pay into an EI (Employment Insurance) system. If you become unemployed you apply for benefits which are roughly 55% of your current earnings (of course it is capped at a maximum). You are required to be looking for work or if you go back to school you can still receive your benefits while in school. This system does have it flaws but by no means do they dictate where you have to live.
It is situations like this that makes me happy that we do live in a Democratic society whereas when the time comes for a change the people have the power to make it so. |

Some of the provinces give people the right to have politicians removed before their term is up. However, it has never been done before. While there are always people marching on the steps of Provincial or Federal legislatures they have rarely made any difference. Further, I would hesitate to call what we have in Canada a "democracy". It's more like a pseudo-democracy. People have the illusion of control when in actual fact we have very little. The little we do possess is never utilized. Still it's better than what many people have. _________________ Joe.Boxer |

This article from a few years back made me laugh too...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/6200005.stm
Even in the fairy-dairy world where you could give robots emotions, merely discussing the idea of robo rights, such as "robo-healthcare" and "robo-housing benefit" is ludicrous.
Not least because as soon as you give a robot feelings, you are sentencing it to a life of persecutory torture. It is a 'criminal wrong' to artificially create an "emotional being" who's sole purpose in life is to serve humans.
Giving robots emotions and feelings is then in itself not only insane but illegal - let alone discussing the chaotic eventualities of such. Rise of the machines? Most probably - certainly not 'rise of the British government', that's for sure!
I wonder will they have to be over 35 years to be permitted privacy, individuality and mental health rights too?
God save the Pish.

Surprise, surprise, it gets even more retarded.
If you are a convicted criminal who has been discharged, you can apply for exemption.
However if you are anyone else, regardless of any mental health problems - you're pretty much screwed.
Seems David baby has a soft spot for criminality. _________________

Along side all these retarded rules Cameron and his idiot side-kicks have been making they have made so many cuts since they got in power the country is on it's knees!
Cutting NHS funds and the same for local G.P.s....WHY? If a certain amount of funds is needed then it should be paid rather than cut off his nose to spite his face....IDIOT!
Bring on the election 2013 so we can send these clowns back to the circus! _________________ 26 Time Boss of the Month |

Just like here in the states, they make retarded cuts to Health Care and Schooling and things that actually matter, yet they build new Sports stadiums and bridges etc etc. I think everyone in government is lining their pockets and or getting paid off by lobbyist and leaving the sick and needy out to dry. I can't wait until the next elections come up, I guarantee someones getting the boot out of office here and there. It is just sickening the BS they pull and get away with. |
