I love Pre MM TV and film.

I don't like much Post MM TV - but some of the movies are good.

my fav part of the 80's would probably have to be...

Me Cool

that and all the ''I Love The 80's'' tv shows that it spawned lol

Seriously so much about the 80's rocked. I'd probably end up voting for toys and video games of that time since I was at that age during the 80's.

Good Topic!

This one's easy for me, since I was a teenager in the 80'es - it has to be "or something else" which , among other things would include the arcade games, the sub cultures (goths, punks, curists, depeche modians, hip hoppers etc.) and some of the music ...

The appreciation of the pop music of the 80'es did not catch me until years later (Prince exempted), but some of the metal bands were really good i.e. The Big 4 of Thrash Metal (Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica & Slayer) along with others like Marillion, Rush, Public Enemy, Run-DMC, XTC and some of Yes' output - XTC was the poppiest of the lot, but they never appealed as broadly as Madonna or Michael Jackson ...

One of my biggest musical experiences ever was being at the right place at the right time: in 1985 I spend my summer holiday in England, and although I got robbed in London on the day of Live Aid, I borrowed the required money of some nice people to attend the show in the old Wembley Stadium - there I had the pleasure of seeing Queen burning down the house, with the late great Freddy Mercury in superb form. As soon as Mr. M strolled out on the scene, he had everybody's attention (80.000 people as I remember it) and he never let go of it ...

At the same show, I experienced the blooper of the century - one of the presenters did his best to talk up the coming on stage of Sting, but he had overseen that Paul McCartney had to come first, so he ended on quite a flat note with audience laughing his red ears of!!!

I didn't like the fashion back then, but then again I've never been that interested in fashion - some of the movies were alright, I guess I could say the same about tv shows and some of the toys ...

Regarding the toys I've kept my old Nintendo games which my son sees as belonging in a graveyard for outdated games - I have pointed out to him that a lot of the games he likes to play nowadays wouldn't exist, if it wasn't for the creative game constructers of the 80'es ... Well, he just looks at me with a raised eyebrow and continues with whatever game he's at at the time ...

I was born in 1969, and I would have loved to have been born in the early 1950'es, so I could have experienced the musical bloom in the late 60'es and early 70'es: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, aaah but I could go on for a long, long time Very Happy Cool Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation ...

The 80's were great because of the toys and cartoons like transformers and G.I. Joe!

Has got to be the music, movies and games of the time. I just remember it being more laid back and slower a little bit. The times I had the arcades back then was memorable.
