|
|
Paranormal Activity 3 exceeded all expectations as it is estimated to have earned over $54 million this weekend! Depending on whether or not you count Hannibal or Signs as horror films, you could even call Paranormal Activity 3 the highest horror opening of all time! The horror flick left Real Steel and Footloose at 2nd and 3rd respectively over the weekend.
The estimates can be found as usual at:

What do you think of Paranormal Activity 3? What did you think of any of the new films opening this weekend? What did you think of the box office performance this weekend? |

warning rant alert!!!
paronormals are stupid movies with no point. They are cheaply made and you can tell. They look they they were filmed with a cell phone and the acting is awful. I can't believe people go to see that @!$# it's to stupid. I can't believe any movie in theaters can be this poorly made and how the heck does it make so much money??? becuase they don't have to pay anyone except the family of new actors and the guy with his cell phone camera.... this is junk! |

Have you even considered for one moment that the reason it looks like it was filmed with a cell is because they wanted it that way?! Have you even considered that several of the camera angles were made to look like "hidden" cameras to capture the creepiness? The first movie to do this kind of thing was The Blair Witch Project. That movie was terrible, but that was due to the script and not the filming. Before you trash any more movies you need to do a few things.
1. Consider the spirit in which the movie was filmed
2. Consider the subject matter
3. Consider any prequels
-->Paranormal Activity grossed $193,355,800
-->Paranormal Activity 2 grossed $177,512,032
These kind of movies are very hot right now and it should be no surprise that they do so well. _________________ Joe.Boxer |

I find this ironic since I'm sure part of the reason why this movie series appeals to the studios in charge of it is because the films have such low budgets!
Here are the budgets for the trilogy:
Paranormal Activity: $15,000
Paranormal Activity 2: $3 million
Paranormal Activity 3: $5 million
Due to this low risk for each of the movies, I can hardly blame the studios for releasing a new film each year! |

I can't wait to see it. Just a matter of freeing up some personal time lol
As for the ''cheap quality,'' I think that's part of the charm of these movies.
It almost seems as if you and your friends could've captured these images yourselves... Making it more ''realistic''
Also, the motion of the camera (like ''The Blair Witch Project'') gives some people a slight ''roller coaster'' sensation, adding to the thrill.
But mainly. The previews alone creep me out because I can relate. Whether it be the first time I tried the ''Bloody Mary'' gag, anytime I was creeped out by a stranger talking to mid-air or imagining my kid being haunted, this stuff hits home.
PS Epic face palm collection XD _________________

Well...
I went and watched it today.
I was one of 7 people in the theater. Two pairs of young girls (mid-teens) and an couple of about 40-50 whom I suspect was chapperoning one of the other young couples lol
Aaaanyways. About the movie. It made me jump like 4 or 5 times. It got my heart racing really good lol But sadly that's all it really had going for it. For about the last 30 minutes I was waiting for another scare to match up to the past ones.
I didnt get it.
The plot turn was kind of weak and somewhat predictable.
If you were to cut out filler (for example, the camera recording people sleeping for 45 seconds before something minute happened etc - about a dozen times at least) you could've shaved a good 15 minutes off the movie.
Overall a good movie if you like the type. YOU WILL JUMP! That's why I went and I was pleased.
I would reccomend it if you like the "BOO!" sensation. Otherwise pass. And don't waste your time wondering what you missed. _________________
