I've been thinking for some time that it would be nice if we could be allowed bigger avatars. The current restrictions are 90x90 and less than 80(?)Kb* in size. I'm not thinking of allowing huge avatars, but certainly bigger than what is current. What are your suggestions?
This poll is only running for 5 days so please get your votes in, suggestions, recommendations and maybe AB will allow us larger avatars.
* Actually they're 80 x 80, 14kb ~ K² _________________ Joe.Boxer |

I think it would be cooler if we were only allowed smaller avatars, like 30x30. That would be sweeett.
Just kidding, lmao. I'd say we should be allowed at least 100x100 Avatars. It would help me a lot, because it's sometimes hard to MAKE an avatar that's only 90x90. It would be cool if we could get 120x120 though. |

120x120 is quite big. Especially when you compare it to 80x80. I think that 110x110 would be an OK size. I'd be happy with 100x100. 80x80 is quite hard to use when making an avatar. Especially when you're trying to incorporate different ideas into one avatar. It's been 5 years and the avatar size has never changed. I think this would be a good idea. Different sizes could be put into the Store as upgrades too. _________________ Joe.Boxer |

Here are some examples of the avatar sizes by the way:
90x90
95x95
100x100
105x105
110x110
Hope this helps
Honestly, I think 110x110 would be perfect, and as joe.boxer said, we should be able to purchase the ability to have a larger avatar with our credits from the shop.

Going by that, I would want mine to be 120x120.
I don't know where you guys are getting 80x80 from for this site. In my profile settings it says.....
Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 14 KB. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/moviesnshows/?ref=bookmarks |

In order to tell the size of your avatar from the sizes that i listed, you can drag the picture over my avatar (Which is 80x80).
This way, you can actually tell what the difference in size is.

Yeah, we are only allowed to upload avatars that are a max size of 80x80 pixels. Which sometimes might not even be allowed because of the file size. |

Great idea
I voted 110 X 110.
But how about putting this as a shop option as mentioned above but how about having them all with different prices, for instance ...
80 X 80 2,500 Credits
90 X 90 3,000 Credits
100 X 100 5,000 Credits
110 X 110 10,000 Credits
Example ^^
I think 80 X 80 is to small, for me I would like at least 100 X 100 but I voted 110 X 110.
I think 110 should be the limit.
Is it possible also to have file size bigger too, at the moment it is capped at 14 KB.
Hope to see bigger avatars available |

I say 150x150 max would be perfect.
Where its at now limit's me and others who can make them.
Even at the 80x80 I always go over the file size till I render the image right where it needs to be and that gets annoying. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

The restrictions are to prevent overloading the server, but I expect a small increase might be possible. I'll nudge the boss.
I expect 100x100 and 16Kb might be the limit though.
I'll have a word...
BTW Joe.Boxer, good idea to make this a poll. +1 _________________

Yeah if Knight said the limit might be 100x100 then going off the samples provided by starman 100x100 looks good. _________________ 26 Time Boss of the Month |

if your worried about server load then i'd suggest upgrading AB's web hosting.
since this site is loading slow as it is from time to time avatar upgrades should be the last thing to worry about.
to many queries or a long mod_rewrite can cause a overload so would the avatar thing be a good idea now? _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

Well I kinda meant memory too, probably primary concern. But I don't personally know the exact server statistics or even if they are relevant, I don't have access to that information, but I do know from previous experience on other sites, it is not always something he's eager to increase.
But we'll see. Cheers Lonny. _________________
