Im not sure if anyone else has ever had this idea here, but I thought it would be fantastic to have a shout box next to the game your playing.
Then you could chat to whoever is online, while playing.
Make it seperate to the homepage shoutbox tho.
And have the option to open it or not.
I've seen them on other sites I've played at in the past, and there very popular and useful.
Not sure how Admin would feel about it, but just wanted to post the idea.

Great Idea.
I've been on other sites with SB's which were more active, though. And with the SB in the same window, the auto updating caused a lag in games and/or the sb.
For now, I just keep two windows open if I'm in a SB convo.

There could be the option to use it, or not.
I know we have the Chat room, but it's usually empty.
Would be a great way to be more social, and some members who dont use the forums or shout box on the main page may use it while playing games.
Anyways, I just put it forward.
All depends on AB thoughts and how he views it.

i would rather see a smaller version of the chat window similar to that like pogo. the shout box one delays on refresh could cause problems for slower connections.

Good idea 
The last site I was at ( Arcadevine.com ) before I came to AB had this function, same set up as the picture I made up in my first post, but they gave you the option to sign into the shout box, so if you had a slow connection, or didnt want to use the shout / chat box you dont sign into it.
Hardly anyone there would use the forums or shout box on the homepage, sort of like it is here, but there was always members chatting in the in game shout box.
It was great. |

That's a pretty decent idea.
I'd like to see the shoutbox a bit bigger with more colour + more emoticons like THANK YOU and HELLO etc,but it's up to AB + Knight i guess.

Like for the kongregate site right Wolf?? I'm sure most people have been to that site before....its not a bad idea....I don't know if you can really chat while your playing the games but you could pause the game and im sure it would make the shoutbox more active than it is

So instead of repling to what I said to you, you have a go at me about my colour choice
My two favourite colours are white + blue, and they are the colours I use for my glows ect.
Seems perfectly readable to me, and is only used for minor small text, and my main color is white. Ideally I'd prefer a slightly lighter blue.

Thanks, im sure they could come up with a great design unique to AB.

Yes like Kong, they use many options within that one panel.
For many games it may not be ideal, but for long games, or slow games where your waiting ect.
Im sure it would be a great social tool.
