just got done reading this.
i would love to adopt that dog but he probably would find his way back to that spot or die trying to get back to his master..

I'm sure many people would love to adopt that dog after reading that story too. I'm not a dog person myself but I can appreciate that dog's loyalty to the death and beyond!  |

| my mom works at an animal hospital, so i've had dogs my whole life...i think my german shepherd would probably find my grave and sit by it like this dog...he never leaves my side |

I can relate to what your saying....dogs are truly a best friend to have...my parents are very active in the dog world....my father is an obedience trainer....as well as a judge in dog shows....I was raised with dobermans and rottweilers....they are champions....and they are awesome...they surely know how to brighten your day when its been a hectic one....  |

My mother died while asleep suddenly, about a year ago in Jan. I lived here with her in the same house and ever since she passed away our border collie throws a fit if i dont leave her bedroom door open for him to go in and out of at night. Then my dog whines at 11pm every night thinking she will be home still. . . (she always worked the evenings) and then our little dog Chihuahua is so depressed she just sits up on the back of the couch facing the window all day just looking outside.
Still after a year later, the dogs still remember her of course and still wait for her. I love the dogs so much, they are my children. Dogs arent just animals to me, they are very important people in my life.
It just goes to show you, dogs will stick by you til the end and even longer. Great story, but so sad. . . I heard of the flooding, my heart goes out to everyone who was touched by this tragedy in Rio.
