It's the school holiday's here, it's great!
We are in the 2nd week now so it's nearly over.
The school system is set into four term's here a year, it used to be 3 when i was as school but several years back the goverment changed it to 4.
Which mean's all student's 5-17 get three two week break's.
Then over christmas they get 8 week's off.
Pretty insane really, that's three and a halve month's of a year.
Man the teacher's here have it sweet, and it's all paid time off
It make's for really short school term's, they just fly by.
Altho my son is in pre-school and his pre-school doesnt break, only over christmas for 2 week's, as we pay for his pre-schooling every week.
We pay for our daughter's swchooling too, but thats only a yearly fee and much less.
But my daughter's home.
My son goes to pre-school later so yippie i love the lie in's too:) |

i just scanned/fast read most of that. that's some what the system we have here. the teachers union has a color code and track system in play. from my understanding my niece and nephew goes to school on average of 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off. they say this is to insure of a better education for all and helps due to over crowded schools.
WHAT thats the lamest thing i ever heard.
All school systems did well when it was a 9 months on and 3 months off when i went.
that changed by the unions back in the 90's
no kid can learn anything in a 6 week course, unless their a robot.
Of course the system knows better then parents or legal guardians right. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

When it changed here, from three term's to four alot of parent's complained and wernt happy.
In my view it make's it harder for both parent's and children.
My Daughter's 5 ( 6 this month ) having very short term's is good in some way's for her, but i think 3 term's worked great.
It's too short a term for learning intake, and also it's just Another 2 week's parent's/Guardian's have to either look after them or if they carnt due to work ect many have to put there kid's into a day programme depending on there age.
These programmes are very expensive.
Wow then that's even worse than here...

Yes when i was in school, we had just over one month more in school every year.
The extra term = 2 week's, and we only have 6 week's at christmas, now it's 8 week's.
We have had so so many teacher strike's here in the last 10-15 year's, and they just keep getting what they want, the union's and the goverment just seem to fold.
One month less schooling a year which is one month more paid holiday for all our teacher's, dont they already get enough?!
Plus they strike every year almost for pay increase's.
Man i got into the wrong trade, i should have been a teacher!!
Well at least i know my daughter goes to one of the best school's here, and she does get a fantastic education.
But thing's can alway's be better, but not alway's better for all i guess. |

Found this photo, thought it was quite cool...
Im watching the simpson's right now, it's such a well made programme with good humor for both kid's and adult's.
I wonder if or when they will bring out a sequel to the simspon's movie.
Hope so. |

That show got too preachy about the environment, education, political issues, etc. It lost it's edge and turned into a sellout show. What they were mocking in the early years has now become a staple on the show. I wouldn't let my kids watch it. I want my kids to be free thinkers and not have a TV show like The Simpson's. influence them one way or another.
I watch Family Guy. At least they've stayed true to what the show is. _________________ When I die bury me face down so the whole world can KISS MY ASS!

im siting here thinking we have problems all over the place. for starters
Bell Scandal
which came out two months ago and were finding out as of today at least 200 or so people can be on this list including a lapd officer who was collecting 400k in yearly salary, an officers average salary starts $45,226 to $61,095 (effective January 1, 2010). on top of that he was collecting disability. Money which can be used to for legitimate reasons like helping to bail the state out of its $20 billion dollar debt.
