Should NHL players play in next Olympics

after an amazing olympics team canada came out with the gold...but now the question is, should the NHL players keep participating in the Olympics?
the NHL commisioner Gary Bettman is undecided on whether or not to let NHL players play in upcoming olympics

I think this is crazy...since they started allowing NHL players to play in the olympics, they have been incredible. I mean really, what would stop him from letting them play? Is it the fact that every 4 years he loses out on money because there is no all-star game?
Every player, no matter NHL or amateur or any other league in the world should have the oppurtunity to represent their country...the olympics are supposed to be the best athletes in the world...how is it possible to play olympic hockey without the best in the world

I'm sure the main reason must be driven by money.
The players would obviously love to compete at every olympic games as they get to represent their country and compete for a medal.

right...its always about money...losing out on an all star game every 4 years is a small price to pay to have the players happy

I agree 100%. The professional players should have the right to play for their country as well. By not being allowed to play is like being penalized for being professional at it.

Players should be able to do what they want. If it wasn't for the players, where would the sport be??? It's bullcrap that some guy who is in charge can make these sometimes stupid rules and prevent them from doing certain things. The players should vote on what they can and can't do. They make the sport, not the person in charge.

Destroyer, although I do agree with you, you have to see it from the owners point of view. Each team invests millions and millions of dollars into the player and to the player's image. If, for example, a player where to get hurt in the olmpics, the team would then probably lose some games that they would have won (if the superstar could play) and also many fans go to games particularly certain athletes; plain and simple: no athlete, no fan, no revenue....it is a business and one the players is aware of when signing on the dotted line to make the money as a professional athlete

I feel its up to the players if they want to play but I believe hockey season shouldnt stop for them. play without them and dock em for not being there and if by chance they get hurt its their own fault and should be on them if they cant play and dont get payed

I can't believe how Putin is crying about the lack of medals that were won. Now he wants the officials who were in charge of training to resign. How childish! I hope the Russians take a beating on home soil just so I can see that turd squirm some more!

I watched the Olympics LIVE! It was amazing to watch the athletes and their winning runs along with the crowd! Great stuff!
