|
|
Nasa's experiment last month to find water on the Moon was a major success, US scientists have announced.
The space agency smashed a rocket and a probe into a large crater at the lunar south pole, hoping to kick up ice.
Scientists who have studied the data now say instruments trained on the impact plume saw copious quantities of water-ice and water vapour.
One researcher described this as the equivalent of "a dozen two-gallon buckets" of water.
"We didn't just find a little bit; we found a significant amount," said Anthony Colaprete, chief scientist for the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) mission.

Outstanding! They have long theorized that water may be under the "soil" at the lunar poles. I'm excited to hear that they have finally proved this! _________________ -2nd Person to Join

With water being there it is a real possibility that they may find some very basic form of life. Wouldn't that be amazing?! Other planets though?? hmmm...maybe. They'll have to crash a few more pieces of space junk to find out. LOL! _________________ -2nd Person to Join

The LCROSS men did a great job on their work. Infact, I saw this mission live in the morning the day it happened on NASA's website. Pretty cool. |

Didn't they actually find some basic life-forms in space yet? |

They've only found a fossil from a meteor that came from Mars of something that would only have been alive billions of years ago.
On Mars itself, there's only proof that there is probably enough "stuff" to support life of "some" kind.
However they have not yet found life on other planets. _________________

LCROSS was launched on June 18, 2009.

That makes it about 4 months or less time than the gap between your post and the time of the previous posted message in this topic. |

Do your research I have, they have found intelligently built structures on mars that would be a 1 in 100 thousand billion chance of occuring from natural weather etc., including pyramids, glass like tunnels on the surface, domes, and what looks like sprawling cities, and forest land, and yes lakes with water, not only that but they are not totally truthful about mars atmosphere, it also has a polar ice cap. Mars was once inhabited by intelligent life and the likes I believe this to be fact. The moon was once inhabited too believe it or not, Is this so hard to believe I think not. The government has been lying to us for decades, we will all one day be enlightened to the truth about our universe and galaxy. On top of that look at all the proof that other intelligent beings have left behind on earth over thousands of years, Its all pretty clear cut to me and makes perfect sense, you just gotta think outside the box and open your mind. |

I heard about water on the moon a few months ago and I also found out that we already discovered over 20 different types of aliens but they are keeping this a secret from the public. I'm not joking. Don't tell me I'm stupid, I'm just saying what I heard. |
