|
|
Children spend at least 13 to 30 hours a week gaming. Most computer games are violent and aggressive and do little to inculcate moral values. Studies indicate that gaming results in aggressiveness and violent responses in children. And, children are less concerned and helpful towards their peers and families. They become socially stunted.
The onus of minimizing the effects and ensuring that children receive a rounded upbringing falls on parents. It is important to introduce character building activities and to censor games, ensuring suitability. |

That's one of the reasons that we don't have too many "bloody" games here. |

This is just an education question. I think I wont let my 3.5 years old son play GTA and kill everybody just for fun... And anyway I will explain him as soon as possible the difference between reality and video game.
I am myself a gamer for so many years (I'm 29) and I'm not a serial killer even if I've play Double Dragon and watched Dragon ball Z when i was young.
Video game can be ONE of the reason that make people become crazy, but it cant be the ONLY one. |

Interesting how he/she is bashing gaming on a gaming site, but mentions nothing about the studies done on how violent TV shows affect children/young adults. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

My 10 year old is not interested in gaming. Bought her a PS2 and Nintendo DS, and lost interest after a couple of days. |

I am extremely addicted to games but I would never EVER do the actual real life things such as fighting and killing lol....its just ridiculous....I did a big speech last year on why I believe that blaming games for youth violence is just a cop out for individuals own mistakes....most people agreed with me....but then you have others that are so closed minded you couldnt tell them anything.... |

I blame society for making Kids violent.
You should see the amount of drugs and alcohol that young kids take these days as well. |

I think kids that have parents that use video games as a baby sitter are the ones they did the study on, because if they have other things to interrest them selfs and not just video games they know real life is much more then a game and it doesnt just end when your done playing. I play more games then my 16 yr old does, and so does her dad...lol |
