I'd be impressed with the hoverboard if it didn't have to run on a special surface. Running on a magnetic cushion doesn't kind of work for me. I think they'd be better off going down the hovercraft route and using a cushion of air, albeit contained in a skirt, that could actually be used on any surface. |

I think McFly was riding on a superconductor (Meissner effect). The problem with pushing air is that it takes a lot of energy and a Mr. Fusion would make the hoverboard look ridiculous. More so when you have to dig through the trash after a day at the skate park.
