This technology will supposedly come within 2-3 years so either 2014 or 2015 depending on the company's fortunes. Here is what the virtual reality contact lenses hope to do:
Quote: | Contact lenses, which are being designed by scientists using military funding, help enhance normal vision with megapixel 3D panoramic images. |
Here is the article:

What do you think of this proposed technology? _________________

I don't like the idea of it being implanted in the eye I would be afraid it might cause other vision problems. Interesting article |

Yes as do i, i don't like the idea of having things in your eyes cause they are very delicate. Anyway i wear glasses full time now and seeing everything in 3D it would give me a headache (yes i know gary is talking about contact lenses, I'm comparing). |

Interesting reading.
Sounds very futuristic.
I wonder how popular they would be, contact lenses are very expensive so I imagine these would cost a small fortune.
I think I'm content with just going to a 3D movie.
Good find garyoak99. |

Sounds very SF to me, I think scientists are forced to give out this kind of big promises to try to attract more funding and to make their bosses smiling. I could be wrong but this kind of virtual reality in a contact lens seems more like 2054 than 2014 to me... |
