I think it's the most ridiculous idea. I am willing to say that 99% of the pictorial content in the forum here has broken copyright law in the US. Unless a picture is either taken or made by you personally, permission to use the images(s) must be attained from the original author. I doubt anyone here has done that. This law would allow everyone to sue everyone for copyright infringement.

What senseless waste of taxpayer dollars....

Exactly, also impossible to enforce on the average downloader. Piracy will NEVER be stopped. A true waste of taxpayer dollars. Throw this bill out the door it's garbage.

This is really just the beginning of internet control and I Don't approve such a act.
Just wait until the ISPs start to provide tiered internet access. remember the mobile broadband loophole?

I can see why and understand a lot of people might at first glance support SOPA. After all, it is called the "Stop Online Piracy Act". Sounds good right,
Wrong it's Washington's way of discrediting the opposition.

Ill give a brief example.
Patriot Act was called the 'Patriot' act? Because it was very patriotic? Nope, Just the name alone "Patriot" makes one think its a good thing and if you were against it you were or are considered unpatriotic.

They passed that law which was meant for terrorist activity and gain wire tapping without court orders and so on without warrants.
That law today is being used in family cases and to shut down pot dispensaries.
Funny how that worked out. Thinks Ex Pres Bush.

Under this new SOPA law, the IP rights holder would have to contact the entity that's doing business with the owner "I think it 5 days" of the sites on which the alleged IP right violation occurred.

Dont think for a second this wont stop piracy in its tracks, cause it will
for the simple fact ISP 's will be policing whats being up/downloaded and they will have control to shut down infringes at the DNS/root level and pass that info IP/user/ home address what he/she has be uploading and so on to the proper authorities.

It's bills like this that are destroying America, well this bill + the NDAA bill he was SO against but signed it anyways on Dec 31..

Thank your lucky stars Bush is no longer President... otherwise a bill like this might have actually gotten signed into law. oh...er..uh... wait.. wha?

This president has proven to be nothing more but a bold face liar just like the rest.
