|
|
For those who have to live with daylight saving time, the clocks should be set BACK one hour so as of the time of this message it WAS 2:38 AM Monday in Sydney, Australia, 3:38 PM Sunday in London, UK, 10:39 AM New York, US, etc.
Countries like India, China, Japan, Nigeria, Colombia, Ecuador and Egypt don't have to observe daylight saving time so please ignore this message accordingly.
There are always exceptions so certain places within Canada and Australia thankfully don't have to put up with daylight saving time.
Thank you for reading this public service announcement and enjoy the rest of your day at Arcade Boss! |

Yes, it was set up because of a world war BUT it wasn't the Second World War but the FIRST World War:
Quote: | Starting on 30 April 1916, Germany and its World War I allies were the first to use DST as a way to conserve coal during wartime. Britain, most of its allies, and many European neutrals soon followed suit. Russia and a few other countries waited until the next year and the United States adopted it in 1918. Since then, the world has seen many enactments, adjustments, and repeals. |

That is great news! What are the chances they will succeed in abolishing it in January? |

It really doesn't serve a purpose now. Plus not all countries observe it either which makes it difficult too keep up with the times around the world especially with the changes. I hope they do away with it as well. |
