We knew the final Harry Potter film would set records and it certainly proved us right! The reports indicated that Part 2 took in over $92 million on Friday and $42 million on Saturday which results in an opening weekend estimate of over $168 million! 
That record breaks The Dark Knight's opening weekend record of over $158 million! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 now holds no less than 4 records: largest midnight gross, opening day, weekend and IMAX opening! The film also earned $307 million internationally from 59 countries! This smashes the previous international opening record held by Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides with over $260 million. 
Transformers:Dark Side of the Moon still managed to reach $300 million domestically despite being in the shadow of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2.

Exactly what I was going to write.
I have only ever seen one of the series, and I never took to it.
My daughter likes it tho, and most the people I've talked to about it like it too.
I just never really took to the lead role actor Daniel Radcliffe but from what I've seen the special effects looked great.
It sure has been a massive hit for J. K. Rowling.

great movie series....i'm very excited to see this last one...it will be really interesting to see the final numbers for this movie and where it ends up ranking in the top 10 (because you know it will be there  ) |
