This is the weirdest creature I have ever seen.
About 1.5mm in length, Tardigrades (commonly known as water bears or moss piglets), are microscopic, water-dwelling, segmented animals with eight legs.
They are among the species taking a ride on Phobos-Grunt as part of the Living Interplanetary Flight Experiment (LIFE).
Until I read the article I thought it was a toaster-sized robot of some kind to collect particles.
Oh no, it is a real living thing. How nuts is that? _________________

weird in deed did a little bit of reading over at space.com
http://www.space.com/5843-legged-space-survivor-panspermia-life.html
Quote: | Some scientists think life might have originated on Mars and then been transported to Earth in a meteorite kicked up by an asteroid impact. |
That explains why im so good looking.
with all kidding aside could something like this be in our drinking water now? could it be a good bacteria that fights bad bacteria? or a bad bacteria which may cause unknown diseases?
thats what crosses my mind when I read and seen things like this.
makes me ponder. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

Another amazing thing about science is one time I walked into a bar and saw a woman that kinda looked like that...
But (now here is where the science comes in) after about 8 to 10 of my favorite beverages she looked like this...
I just love science |

^^^ That looks like some kind of mutant mole...too weird I had to read up on this here's a short article on it.......
Tardigrades (water bears, Echiniscus sp.) are an obscure group of invertebrates (Tardigrada) located between the nematodes (roundworms) and the arthropods (crustacea, insects, and ticks). Tardigrades are microscopic aquatic animals that need water to live and are found in marine, freshwater, and semi-aquatic terrestrial habitats. They can live in extreme environments ranging from hot springs to solid ice. Without water they shrivel into a cask stage and survive long periods of desiccation in a stage called cryptobiosis. Water bears feed on the fluids of plant and animal cells. |

I'm just glad they're microscopic so I would never have to see those with my own eyes! It is that way that I can sleep at night knowing that I would never accidentally see one of those without putting one under a microscope! |
