Anyone been to foreign countries and then you realize a familiar food franchise just isn't the same? Well, if you ever stop by Kentucky Fried Chicken in China; you'll see many different things about it:
First of all Colonel Sanders looks VERY different! Here is a side-by-side comparison of a Chinese Sanders and an American one:
What did you think of that?
The most important differences of course is the menu:
soup (spinach, egg and tomato in some soups) with every value meal, noodles, steamed vegetables, hot and spicy chicken (dark meat) sandwiches made with cayenne pepper, salad of shredded carrot, fungus and bamboo shoots, and deep fried dough sticks.
Yes, I heard McDonald's changed its menu in China slightly too. I don't think McDonald's changed it to the same degree as KFC though. What have you heard about McDonald's menus in other countries though?
It's not grilled. It's pre-cooked, frozen and then microwaved to reheat it in-store. Terrible product. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

Apparently this Chinese KFC ad is controversial because the taoist master is supposed to be vegetarian.[/quote]
Yes, that commercial WAS controversial three years ago along with ANOTHER KFC commercial that showed lazy students who loved KFC food passing an exam while a far more industrious student who disliked the food failed it.
The fact is that neither television commercial mattered because KFC customers in China stayed loyal to the company:
Quote:
With 2,980 restaurants and a new outlet opening almost every day, KFC is the "largest and fastest growing restaurant chain in mainland China today." In the United States, by contrast, the number of KFCs has fallen each of the last four years, from 5,525 in 2004 to 5,253 in 2008. Sales data show that KFC's U.S. operations still outsell its Chinese operations, by a margin of $5.2 billion to $3.6 billion. But when you take out sales of franchisees, the stores owned by YUM brands in China sold $2.5 billion worth of greasy chicken goodness in 2008 compared with $1.2 billion for company-owned stores in the United States.

The kfc where we live is awful! the 'kids' that work there dont take their job serious as they are alwys messing around and swearing even tho there are old people and children in there!
isn't that the story for most fast food restaurants neerafa? we were all teenagers once, and unfortunately now many of us are older and get a feeling that those teenagers now have lost some of the meaning of working hard at your job
